Who is responsible
The controller of personal data is [controller's name, EIK and address]. For anything about personal data, write to [privacy email].
Where the data comes from
- The Commercial Register and the Register of Non-Profit Legal Entities kept by the Bulgarian Registry Agency. They are public under the Bulgarian Commercial Register and Register of Non-Profit Legal Entities Act. We read the official portal at the moment of each check.
- VIES, run by the European Commission — only whether the company's VAT number is valid.
We don't buy data, don't collect data from other websites and don't link people across different companies.
Which personal data we show
- Names of managers, representatives, board members, procurators, partners and sole owners — as they are registered.
- The name of a sole trader, because it is part of the trader's business name.
- Beneficial owners under the Bulgarian anti-money-laundering law — only when someone presses “Show names”. They are not in the page code that search engines read.
We don't show personal identification numbers, home addresses or lists of “every company a person is involved in”.
On this English site, Bulgarian names are shown in Latin letters using the official Bulgarian transliteration system.
Why, and on what legal basis
The purpose is transparency in trade: anyone can quickly check a company they deal with. The legal basis is legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The data is already public by law, and we show only what is needed to check the company.
Search engines
- Pages of companies (EOOD, OOD, AD, EAD, KD and others) may appear in search engines.
- Pages of sole traders are not indexed.
- Names of people are marked so they don't appear in search result snippets.
- Pages with name search results are not indexed.
How long we keep data
- We don't keep a copy of the register. A company check stays in the cache for up to 5 minutes, a search result for up to 15 minutes.
- If the register doesn't respond, we show the last known copy for up to 24 hours, clearly marked with when it is from.
- Watched companies and recent searches are kept only in your browser. They never reach us.
- The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses for delivery and abuse protection, under its own terms as a processor.
Cookies and usage analytics
We use PostHog, with servers in the European Union, to understand how the site is used. Requests go through our own domain. There is no advertising.
- Without consent we count visits and actions anonymously, such as “company opened” or “name search”, with no cookies and nothing stored in your browser.
- With consent PostHog sets a cookie to recognise a return visit and may record sessions and clicks. Names of people, search fields, watched companies and the ownership and management sections are hidden in recordings.
- In both modes we don't send the EIK, the search text or the page title. The IP address is used only for anonymous one-day counting and isn't kept. The only thing we add to events is the country the visit comes from, as determined by Cloudflare, for example “BG”, and the site language.
- Analytics data is kept for up to [period, e.g. 12 months].
You can change your choice at any time under “Cookies” at the bottom of the site. The theme, watched companies, recent searches, your cookie choice and any interest marked in Pro features are kept in your browser and never reach us.
Your rights
If your name appears in a check, you can ask for:
- access — which data about you we show and where it comes from;
- rectification — the data comes from the Commercial Register, so a change is registered with the Registry Agency; once registered, it shows here within 24 hours;
- objection to your name being shown, and restriction or erasure where the law allows it.
Write to [privacy email]. We reply within one month. You can also complain to the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection — cpdp.bg.
